DOODLE DO YOU MATCH?

My Doodle Story

Sherman:  “If being a dog means you're like Mr. Peabody, who never turns his back on you, and who's always there to pick you up when you fall and loves you no matter how many times you mess up; if that's what it means to be a dog, then yeah! I'M A DOG, TOO!” (Sherman J Peabody, from the movie, Mr. Peabody and Sherman).

Our DDR Sherman is looking for a Mr. or Mrs. Peabody of his own. Just like in the movie, Sherman is a beautiful, very bright boy. He is very curious, rambunctious, silly, fun-loving, adorable, cute, mischievous, and enthusiastic about all that life has to offer. Full of energy, Sherman lives to play fetch and run wild with other pups. Having come from the streets of hard knocks, Sherman knows to appreciate the good life. A bit timid with unfamiliar experiences, Sherman will need time to adapt to his new home. Once he feels comfortable and safe, Sherman becomes the very best version of himself, loving and loyal to a fault.

Sherman has passed all the basics in being a “very good boy.” He is very intelligent, mastering sit, down, and wait. Sherman loves a doggy door, giving him the freedom to enjoy the outdoors when nature calls. With his love of nature, it’s a good thing a bit of Benadryll keeps his allergies in check.

The perfect home for Sherman would be one where he is the only pup but allowed to have friends over to play. Sherman loves to play with other dogs, but other dogs don’t always like to play with him, as he can be a bit enthusiastic or rough-and-tumble when playing. The children in the home should be at least 8 to 10 years old for this reason and also given Sherman’s size and excitability. Sherman will need a fenced backyard to contain all his fun and play in. Sherman will also need adoptive parents who are committed to his continued training, continuing to socialize him and helping him to understand the world can be a wonderful, safe and loving place.

Sherman’s adoption fee is $500. Sherman is HW negative, current on all HW/flea preventatives, neutered and microchipped. All adoption fees go toward expenses like medical costs and food for Doodle Dandy dogs. This helps make it possible for us to continue giving amazing pups like Sherman a second chance at life, and for you, the most remarkable and loving pup. If you would like to fill out an application and you are within a 5-hour drive of one of our metro areas (DFW, SAN, AUS, HOU), please click on one of the Adoption Application button on this page and select SHERMAN from the drop-down menu on the application form.
