This year’s theme, “Out of This World – From Astronauts to Aliens, Barkus Shoots for the Stars,” promises a cosmic celebration for all attendees.

The Krewe of Barkus parade is a beloved tradition that brings together dog lovers from all over the region. Participants showcase their furry friends in creative costumes, aligning with the annual theme. This year, expect to see a delightful array of space-inspired outfits, from adorable astronauts to playful extraterrestrials.
Doodle Dandy Rescue is honored to be part of this festive occasion. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome Doodle dogs in crisis, ensuring they find safe and loving homes across Texas. Join the Parade: Dress up your Doodle (or any breed) in their best space-themed costume and walk with us in the parade. It’s a fun way to support rescue efforts and showcase your pet’s personality.
Visit Our Booth: Stop by our booth to learn more about our rescue operations, adoption processes, fostering, and volunteer opportunities. While you're there, check out our fundraising raffle featuring prizes worth up to $600 from local favorites like Total Wine, Urban Air, A Pawsitive Dawg, Tupps Brewery, Kendra Scott, Petsuites, Lazy Dog, Painting with a Twist, The Yard, and more! Feeling extra festive? Swing by our photo booth, where your pup can pose in an outer space meets Mardi Gras scene—complete with an alien and rocket mascot! The best pup costume will also win a prize. All picture donation proceeds will benefit DDR. Plus, don’t miss your chance to grab an exclusive DDR t-shirt—but hurry, supplies are limited!
